Downloading the manual is best as detailed above. Location of the Camshaft Position Sensor also depends what engine you have in your truck. If you still need help what motor do you have? Joined Sep 1, 2006 · 11 Posts

The Prob. I had was: :rck: No I did not do any thing to the truck, It just started this the other day. 1 - I could start only if the engine was cold 2 - If it was hot I had 1 to 2 hrs before I could start it again 3 - If I steeped on the gas It would cut out. ( spit and sputter ) I found the Prob. by turning the
key switch on and of 3 time and read the code ( P0344 ) CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR. Thank to all the Info I found on this site :gr_patrio :gr_patrio :gr_patrio

Glad you got the problem fixed, lets hope it was the right diagnosis.

I've got a buddy with a 4.7 truck who needs a cam sensor, is the sensor hard to get to? About how long did it take you?

I'm assuming the code will eventually clear itself?, Or is there a way to clear a code on these trucks without using a scan tool?
