From what has been discussed on ClubRSX, the diagphram on the pressure plate is causing this. Get in contact with ACT and they should be able to send a new one to you.

Im gonna install the Stock Pressure Plate.

It will fit on the ACT Clutch Right?

The stock pressure plate will not work very well with a ACT Xtreme disc. The clutchs are designed to hold power useing different theories.

ACT uses alot of clamping force to keep the clutch working, while the Exedy/oem clutchs rely on multiple types of friction material in the disc, with less clamping pressure.

Do Not mix parts from different clutchs UNLESS you have alot of experience with clutchs and have the tools to measure and compare!

I had a ACT hdss clutch on my A2 and it never worked right(never released, defective disc) it was replaced with a Xtreme and it was pure junk. I then pulled the trans a third time and installed a Centerforce DFbb clutch with the ACT pro-lite flywheel And it is so far the best clutch I have used, it feels almost stock at the pedal and is now holding close to 240whp, and 165ftlbs of torque!

Sorry to hear your predicament, itsrsxxxrated, I recently had my clutch master cylinder go on my EG. Contact Import Auto Salvage(PM 98DC2-ITR), they may have one in stock, they've helped me get miscellaneous parts here and there and have AWESOME customer service. Good luck

agreed. You don't want to mix and match parts, especially with your drivetrain.

Aight...So should I try the DC2 Clutch Master Cylinder, or the Honda Civic Clutch Master Cylinder?

I heard the Civic one will work.

I get the car back today w/ the new RSX CMC in it, but dont know how long it will last.

One thing that I have heard of is to try the 05+ CMC's I heard some of the stuff is beefier and stronger. I remember one guy tried it and hasn't had a problem. I also have the Extreme Pressure plate and organic disk and love it. Although I am on a 5speed which might be different because I have had it on for over a year and no problem yet but I am still gonna swap to an 05+ CMC....JUST in case.

yeah theres a lot of cmc going bad with act pressure plate. on crsx ppl are switching over to the newer civic cmc. Ever since they made the switch none has went out. Someone cnc the triangle piece i dont know what its called. they just made a thicker one with longer bolts cause the thin ones are weak and warp easily. I think he sells them for 50 shipped with the long bolts.

As much as I like ACT I think my MC is going bad now, does anyone know a way to check if its defective?

Edit: Does anyone know if the civic EX cmc will work for my DC?

ACT extremes will blow the hydraulic systems all to shit! They also destroy the thrust bearings in the motor, do not use ACT unless you want mega problems down the road! I had a ACT HDSS and it never disengaged, the disc was constructed with the outer edge about 1/4", was .040 too thick! We have seen at least a dozen RSX's/Si's with ACT clutchs and each one had thrust bearing failures due to the clutch's. Say what you want about ACT, but they have proved to me and alot of other people that they are pure CRAP !!!

What are the symptoms of a faulty clutch master cylinder?

Symptoms of a Failing Clutch Master Cylinder.
Low Brake Fluid Level..
Leaking Fluid..
Strange Noises..
Spongy Clutch Pedal..
Dirty Clutch Fluid..
Hard Clutch..
Problems Shifting Gears..
Clutch Pedal Stuck To The Floor..

Why is there no pressure on my clutch pedal?

There could be a leak on the slave cylinder causing the slave cylinder not to operate. Also, check the pin to the clutch pedal and make sure that it is hooked up to the clutch master cylinder. Check the lines and make sure that they are not cross threaded, which will not seal and cause a leak.

Why do clutch master cylinders fail?

The clutch master cylinder is hydraulic in nature and is therefore prone to internal leaks that can interfere with it's ability to properly displaced fluid. If the master cylinder is not able to properly create pressure, it will not be able to disengage the clutch properly when the pedal is pressed.
