2008 honda civic speed sensor location

The 2007 Honda Civic speed sensor location is on top of the transmission, near the back. The transmission is one of the most critical parts of the vehicle. You will face issues at some point. You could experience shudders. Hard shifts could arise and that is not good. There may be jerking. The gears might become stuck. Delayed shifts can cause acceleration issues. The transmission may slip. If the transmission fluid leaks, that needs to be solved quickly. The transmission fluid needs to be replaced every 30,000 to 60,000 miles. Along with fluid changes, terrible sounds will come from the transmission. Old transmission fluid will be awful to the ear. A worn out torque converter will cause a headache.

Hey there,
I have a intermittent speedometer and engine code P0720 Output Speed Sensor, so I ordered THIS SENSOR which I hope is the correct one. Based on the youtube video I watched, I think it is. However the engine layout is completely different than the video I saw. The breather box is square and closer to the firewall, whereas in the

, it was rectangular and more to the right side of the engine bay. I will attach a couple photos.
Hoping you guys can help or identify why it doesn't look the same.
Thanks!

UPDATE: I found it! Right at the back of the transmission. It is accessible by removing the air box.

The sensor had visible damage on it, so I ordered the replacement which for me was 28810-PWR-013 , couldn't find it anywhere online that wasn't from china and I need my car for christmas so I ordered it from my local honda dealership for £83 with next day pickup.

I'm going to post a full guide once I've got it fitted as there is really no solid guide online and it seems to be a fairly common issue.

Did you take that picture? I have the same problem and I can't find the Speed Sensor

What happens when your transmission speed sensor goes out?

When there's no speed signal coming from the sensors, shifting of gears will be a problem because the powertrain control module won't control them correctly. This will make the transmission not work properly. It will either shift more quickly or roughly than expected.

Where is the speed control sensor located?

Note: The transmission speed sensor is located in the rear of a longitudinal mount transmission. For transaxles, the speed sensor is located on the long side of the output shaft. This would be the end of the transaxle that faces the front of the engine.

Which speed sensor controls the transmission?

Typically, two sensors communicate the transmission data to the vehicle's powertrain control module. The first sensor, referred to as the input sensor, monitors the speed of the transmission's input shaft. The second sensor is the output sensor, which monitors the output shaft speed.
