How to add chase card to apple pay

If you own an iOS device, you can easily add your Chase credit card to Apple Pay. This can help simplify making in-store purchases at participating locations and at the App Store. Using this feature, you can also send money to contacts simply by tapping the Apple Pay icon while you chat on messenger.

You can set up your Chase credit card with Apple Pay in a few simple steps:

1. Open the Wallet app or tap Wallet & Apple Pay.
2. Select a credit card to add.
3. If you already have the card on iTunes, use the card’s security code to add it to Apple Pay.
4. If you’re adding a new card, select Add a different card and enter the card’s details manually or use your iSight camera.

Note: You can only add your Chase card via the Wallet app. You can’t add your card to Apple Pay via the Chase mobile app.

Once you add your Chase credit card to Apple Pay, it will be stored as a virtual card on your iOS device. This is a security and privacy feature that shows limited credit card information to merchants when you make a purchase.

At checkout, unlock your iPhone with a fingerprint ID and bring it closer to the POS terminal. If you use face ID or an Apple Watch, tap the side button twice and unlock your iPhone with your face ID. After that, move your iPhone or Apple Watch closer to the sales terminal.

Benefits of using your Chase credit card for Apple Pay

Adding your Chase credit card to Apple Pay can simplify some financial transactions, such as:

• Purchases made with your iOS device. Make contactless payments at locations that accept this payment method by simply using your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch near a sales terminal.
• Sending money to contacts. Send money to contacts via the messenger app. Just tap the Apple Pay icon when chatting and enter the amount you want to send.
• Purchasing apps. With your Chase card added to Apple Pay, you can purchase iOS apps from the App Store or make in-app purchases.

Is it safe to put my credit card on Apple Pay?

Yes. You get the standard credit card protection you get from Chase, plus you get a face ID or fingerprint ID lock to access your cards, and when you make transactions, Apple Pay uses a device-specific number and unique transaction code, thus hiding your credit card information from merchants.

Using a Chase Credit Card via Digital Wallet Before Receiving the Card

Yesterday, I wanted to add my Chase Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card to my Apple Pay wallet so I could have the option to use it for promotions without having to actually carry the card in my wallet.

When I’ve had to replace my iPhone, it’s always frustrating having to find all of my physical cards to re-add because with Citi and Amex you need your 3 or 4 digit security code.

From my Chase app, I was able to add it with verification done via text message instead of needing the CID number. How great, I thought. I wonder if you could do this with a brand new card as well?

And right on cue, in my Twitter feed, was today’s post from Doctor of Credit that you can now, in fact, add a brand new card to your digital wallet without having the card in your hand.

This is extremely valuable because when you apply for a new credit card, the clock starts ticking on your bonus offer period – the amount of spend you need to make in a fixed amount of time – once you are approved. And you may well be applying for the card specifically because you have some payments you want to make.

Here’s where to look inside your Chase app.

What Digital Wallets Can You Add Your Chase Card To?

You can add any of your Chase credit cards, like a Chase Freedom Unlimited, to Apple Pay, G Pay, or PayPal. It will text you a code (or you can get a voice call to your number on file).

And after a recent website/app update, you can also add all Chase Business credit cards to your mobile wallets, however it seems that *for now* you do need the actual card in hand to do so (unlike the personal cards which can be added straight from the Chase app).

Chase will generally let you call and request your card expedited anyway – which is great – but this will give you an even greater head start on your spend.

American Express will often give you a digital number you can use right away, but it’s very hit or miss. Citi, by contrast, will almost never expedite your card and you cannot add Citi cards to your wallet.

While not life changing, this is a nice new feature and good to know about.
