Hello, I am enrolled to be attending college in the fall, and I have a college (.edu) email that I added to my Spotify account so that I could get the student discounted Premium. I confirmed the email, but now when I try to buy the Premium for Students deal, it gives me the same error message: "Unfortunately, we couldn't confirm that you're a student. Please check your details and try again."
Is this because of the fact that I'm not taking any classes/paying tuition yet? I know that my uni doesn't let me take advantage of its resources (gym, pool, etc.) because I'm not paying tuition yet, so does SheerID verify my student status in this way?
It's most likely that but I am worried about another possibility. As I mentioned earlier, I've had my Spotify account for about 7 years (since I was 11), and at one point I remember taking a deal that gave me a week of Premium for free. Some time after that, I tried to get a 3 months of Premium for 99 cents deal, but because I had taken the week free of Premium in the past, it didn't let me. Does Spotify only let you have one deal in your life, and then you're just stuck paying full price or nothing once that deal is done? Because that would mean I would have to lose 7 years worth of playlists and listening history in order to enjoy well-deserved discounted Premium.
Any knowledge of how Spotify and SheerID verify student status would be appreciated (I can't seem to find the specifics on either of their websites).

Also, once you graduate or have used it for 4 years, they will transfer you back to the regular Spotify price, but you keep your Hulu account! I pay the 10 dollars for Spotify and Hulu together. They kicked me off the student price, but it's still Spotify with free Hulu, so I'll probably never cancel. Haha

Get set up to go to orientation and all that garbage and the university will give you an email address. usually that is enough to get you discounts for online services at the least

Find out when the add/drop date is for your school and just drop all your classes before then. Won't have to pay the school, the school doesn't care since you technically never attended, and you get to keep the email for as long as it stays active/the ID card for as long as you can pass with that picture.

Set the email to forward to your personal email. Schools typically don't delete email accounts right away, even if you're no longer registered, they'll just lock you out.
