Rated 5 out of 5 by Cpayne from I love this washer When searching for a washer I was looking for one with a good size capacity and found this one and it was on sale, but I was afraid of it as well after reading the reviews online. So here is what I have to say about this washer, I LOVE IT :-) and Yes you MUST READ the MANUAL BEFORE start your first load. Once you have read the manual then you will totally understand how this machine works and love it as I do. Yes it makes a different noise than my last washer but that's OK and yes the water is added different and at different times but that too is OK, the end result is VERY CLEAN CLOTHES and that is what a washer is suppose to do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Deb from Please Read This Before You Buy We purchased the MVWC565FW1 Top Loader HE Washing Machine in September 2017. When I first began using, I used the AutoSensing option. For about 2 weeks, I continued using thinking that it was my imagination but IT DID NOT CLEAN MY CLOTHES!!! PLAIN AND SIMPLE. I have now switched to Deep Water Wash and I realize NORMAL wash cycle cannot be used with Deep Water Wash. Btw, I have read the manual. It lives by my chair!!! I literally have to turn cycle knob from cycle to cycle for minutes until it will finally realize that I want Deep Water Wash. It is the most FRUSTRATING washing machine I have ever used in my life. Never will I buy another Maytag!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Larry from Large capacity, good value We've had this washing machine for a couple of weeks now. It replaced a much older Whirlpool model that behaved very differently. This is a high-efficiency washer which automatically senses the size of the load & fills the tub accordingly. There is no way to manually set the load size (small, medium, large) like our old washer, other than a maximum fill setting. When sensing, washing, & rinsing the washing machine pulses & the sound, while not overly loud, is somewhat annoying. During the rinse & spin dry cycles the lid locks automatically & can't be opened. On the positive side, this is a large capacity washer & does a good job of cleaning clothes, sheets, etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Teena from Very Large Load Pros: Super large load capacity ... I can do king size bedspreads with no problem at all. I really like this washer because it has a tall agitator which makes me feel like the clothes get washed better than those no agitator washers (which I used in a rental condo at the beach for a week). You can either fill up the whole tank with water (separate setting) or let it sense how much you need. I really like that feature too. I feel the clothes get very clean. Cons: Once you get accustomed to the sensing noises (which are a strange sound), the actual washing machine noises are pretty loud. This is not a washer to be next to a bedroom if you are going to do wash while trying to sleep.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Farmmom from Repeated problems I purchased this model washing machine 4yrs ago. We immediately had problems. And Yes, I read my manual! Our problems were in the mother board and Maytag replaced it; they also extended my warranty by another year. Fast forward, 4 yrs=same problem. Maybe it's because we started with problems but, I've never liked this machine, it is loud and doesn't get my clothes clean.I have 3 boys and lots of farm laundry! I really didn't want to hassle of replacing another appliance so I limped it through the past 3 months. Maybe we got a lemon but we are replacing it today! I remember when machines lasted over 4-5 years but I see that 4 yrs seems to be the standard in reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SuperMario from Ditch Your Moldy Front Loader and Buy Me! We just dumped a 5 year old $1500 Samsung front loader that always smelled like mildew and was coming up on a $900 repair to fix broken drum spider.....we use to have a Whirlpool top loader that lasted 9 years no issues. After 2 weeks in use my wife loves being back in a top loader! Sure the motor makes some noise while it agitates....to us it is the sweet sound of victory! Clothes come out cleaner...that front loader just never used enough water...after more research we found that front loaders have many more problems than good top loaders....they are a fashion, this machine is a tool. A tool for gettin' laundry done.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Kat from Wouldn’t work from Day 1 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this washer and got it installed and we were excited to try it out. We read the manual from front to back, put in our first load and “NOTHING”!! We tried several different cycles and “NOTHING”!! We then did all the trouble shooting and “NOTHING” no matter what we tried the machine refused to go through a cycle and kept shutting itself off. We loaded it up and took it back to the store and got a different Brand washer “which is working perfectly”. If this Maytag was bad right out of the shipping crate we didn’t want to take a chance with another matching of the same brand. I will never buy another Maytag again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by mommabear from Disappointing [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this on-line and when it was delivered I noticed it wasn't like my old Maytag. It is high efficiency I know it says that but I thought it would be more like my old one. It is not. It takes about 2 hours to run a load of clothes and the agitator has a gap in the bottom so when coins get left in pockets by accident they get hung in between the tub and the agitator and it is a nightmare to get them out. Never had this problem with the older style Maytag's. For something that is suppose to be high efficiency it shouldn't take 2 hours to wash one load I can't possibly see how this saves money.
