Oil for 2022 nissan pathfinder

The 2022 Pathfinder requires 0W20 full synthetic oil 5 quarts, what are you paying for an oil change at the Nissan Dealer ?

I can tell you my normal go to engine oils like Walmart supertech went up about 30% in cost in one shot recently.

I believe a 0w20 oil change at my local dealer chain was around $60-70.

Just had my 2022 SL Pathfinder in at 4,000 miles. My dealer covers the first two years of oil changes and tire rotation. The invoice says $60.53.

My 2017 says it needs 0W20. When I go to the dealer for just an oil change, it's ~$40. I believe it's a synthetic blend like this:

I'm told this is a Synthetic Blend oil manufactured By ExxonMobil. There is a difference b/w synthetic blend versus full synthetic. I'm told this is why Nissan recommends oil changes every 5000 miles. With full synthetic oil, the oil change interval is b/w 7500-10000 miles. For example: Toyota's OEM 0w20 oil is actually full synthetic and the recommended oil change interval is every 10,000 miles. Most oils that are full synthetic will say so on the bottle and all oils that are full synthetic will cost more.

I do see some 0w20 motor oils marketed as being synthetic blend these days. It wasn't that way initially. The dealerships in my area generally don't use oil out of quarts or use the "OEM" oil unless you specify and pay extra for it.

Not that your engine or your average consumer cares or even thinks about it, but your general "oil change special" is in bulk, from local suppliers.

My thought is a $40 dealer oil change today does not include OEM oil out of quarts. I know it used to, but not in today's market.

Oil is important but oil filter is important too,
Even if synthetic oil can last 7-10K miles,
some filters cant last this long, their media is not that long

City Kia Orlando provides first 24 months scheduled oil changes/tire rotation for free with house filter and synthetic blend. I buy my own oil(Pennzoil Ultra Platinum) for 24.97 5qt at Walmart.com. Even after the 24 months, I will still allow City Kia to change oil for additional $28.95 for labor and filter. Still pretty good price at just a tad over $54.00 + tax.

999BK-0W20NW is the part number for the oil used in all my service at College Station Nissan. The price quoted on the invoice was $3.89 per quart, total of $19.45 for oil. total for oil change and filter was $53.94.
my last service was 28 Sept 2021.
the prior service was 23 June 2021 and the oil was $3.06/qt.

Buy Amsoil. Case of 12 is about $85.00. Do some research, this is far superior than Nissans NS oils

Thanks. I've used them all over the years in various vehicles / equipment. Amsoil, Redline, Royal Purple, etc. There's no way I'd extend the oil change intervals on my 2019 Pathfinder, so dumping a ~$7/qt oil every 3-4K miles doesn't make financial sense to me.
