If you are an International Medical Graduate (IMg), that is also called unlicensed foreign physician and you do not have any active license in Florida, there is a choice to obtain the National Certification of Medical Assistant. The Florida Medical College is accepting credits from other Colleges and Universities from those applicants who wish to become a Medical Assistant with an Associate Degree in the United States. The acceptance of these credits offers the opportunity in the majority of the applicants to obtain the title of Associate in Science as a Medical Assistant AS, in a short time. Our program includes 91 credits to obtain the Associate Degree Diploma and graduates can apply for a National Certification that is accepted in the USA and Canada. Applicants must present their valid transcript and diploma in medical care (doctor, dentistry, nursing and others) and a high school diploma or equivalent, in person at our facility. A Medical Assistant is a multi-skilled allied health care professional that specializes in medical procedures and performed in the ambulatory health care setting and hospitals. Medical Assistant Program is designed to prepare students to work as Medical Assistant’s in places such as Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Medical Group Practices, Home Health Agencies and Medical Offices. Graduate from Florida Medical College have also the opportunities to work in Medical Spa, Dermatology office, Aesthetic Practice and Clinical Site among other. Unlicensed physician from another countries with experience in aesthetic field or in dermatology practice can apply to obtain the Medical Assistant Dermatology or Medical Assistant Aesthetician, National Certification. Can international students become physician assistant in USA?International applicants are welcome to apply as long as they meet our eligibility requirements. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited academic institution in the United States or Canada* or a graduate degree from the United States** by July 15 of the year of matriculation.
Can IMG become PA in USA?IMGs cannot skip or advance past any aspects of the program due to their prior medical education. To complete a PA program successfully, you must complete both the first didactic year and second clinical rotation year, finishing all courses for the program.
