Senior Citizen’s Day at the Montgomery County Fair has become one of the most popular events that the Fair sponsors. The incorporation of this “Special Day” for Senior Citizens was in 1978. The first Senior Citizen’s Day was attended by approximately 200 people and it is estimated that there will be close to 1,500 for the 2022 Fair.
Some of the day’s activities will include: Registration and visitation including coffee and donuts, various entertainment, announcement of the “King & Queen for the day” for Montgomery County Senior Citizen’s Groups and Senior Living Facilities, lunch, bingo, door prizes and much more!
All Senior Citizens, age 65 or older in the county are invited to attend. It takes numerous volunteer hours and donations from businesses, organizations and individuals to make this day possible for the seniors of Montgomery County. The Fair Association is appreciative of all the support they have received from various contributors in the community to continue to have a successful Senior Citizen’s Day annually.
Because of the large attendance, the number of Senior Citizens to participate will be limited to the first 1,400 arriving. No tables may be reserved.
There will be a 65 and older division show in conjunction with the Senior Citizen’s Day. They are asked to bring items that they have made, to be judged while they are being entertained. Check-In for the items will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The following categories will be judged: Canned Foods from Scratch, Desserts, Breads, Needlework, Handicrafts, Fine Arts, Quilts and Photography.
