Summer Day Camp Staff

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is looking to hire camp counselors to work in our Summer Daycamp at the Tri-Lakes, Briargate, Garden Ranch, Southeast YYMCA's and the Westside Community Center. These staff will have the opportunity to make an impact on children across as they develop character and life skills in the campers. Staff will be able to work forty hours in a fun and rewarding environment. This position hires 16 years and older depending on experience; great for college students interested in working with children in their future.

Sports Staff

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is looking to hire young adults passionate about sports and willing to help build kids confidence through sport. Summer sports camps will run throughout the summer from 9am-11am focusing on a variety of sports across all of our YMCA locations. This is a great oppurtunity for candidates to give back on their experience and provide campers with a fun and safe enviornement. The position hires 16 years and older with experience in working with kids and in sports.

Membership Staff

The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is looking to hire staff to operate and manage the front desks at the City Outdoor pools, Wilson Ranch and Memorial Park. This is a great oppurtunity to learn customer service skills in a fun enviorment while enjoying the summer joy of outdoor pools. Candidates would be 21 years of age and older and looking to give back to the community to providing a great experience at the pools.

Lifeguards

We are hiring certified lifeguards as well as offering training to candidates who need the certification. The YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is hiring lifeguards at the Briargate, Cottonwood Creek, Downtown, Southeast & Armed Services, Tri-Lakes YMCAs, City Outdoor Pools and HOAs! Candidates must be 16 years old or older and pass a skills exam to demonstrate proficiency in lifeguarding skills.

Over the summer, we offer a variety of programs to campers of many different ages.  As unique as each of our programs are, our staffing needs differ with each week and each program.

For any of our Summer Camp Staff, we are looking for individuals who are positive team players and are willing to help out in any aspect of camp.  We expect our staff to be punctual, organized, responsible, honest and trustworthy - we want stellar role-models for our campers who help the campers have fun, grown and build their self-esteem.  Our team is full of people who love to play and work with children and have fun!

Positions we hire for include:

Head Group Counselors (Must be 21 years old or older)

• NYS Teacher Certification preferred or at least 2 years of college in a related field.

• Leads group of campers from activity to activity, encouraging and participating in all activities.

• Communicates directly with parents on a daily basis.

• Assists Activity Counselors with planned activities.

• Develop a positive atmosphere for your group of campers and all of camp.

• $19-$22/hour based on experience.

Assistant Group Counselors (Ages 16-20 years old)

• Help Head Group Counselor with activities and campers.

• Supervise and help campers during and in between activities.

• Maintain a positive atmosphere for your group of campers and all of camp.

• Participates in all camp activities.

• $15/hour.

Activity Counselors (Must be 21 years old or older)

• NYS Teacher Certification preferred or at least 2 years of college in a related field.

• Plans and executes developmentally appropriate activities for the campers.

• Work within a given budget for supplies of all activities for the summer.

• Communicates with staff and campers effectively.

• Develops a positive atmosphere and is supportive of and encourages campers.

• Participates in all camp activities.

• $22-$24/hour based on experience.
