The Tao of Pooh is an endearing and thought provoking read. The Te of Piglet, however, was so off course and infuriating that I couldnโ€™t finish reading it. If you like to hear the conservative rants of an old man complaining about microwaves and feminists, maybe itโ€™s for you. But I personally will only recommend the Tao of Pooh, and suggest skipping over this bundled book.

What a wonderful way to teach the Tao. Even as an older individual I found this book to be an absolute delight. It definitely helped me understand on a much deeper level the teachings of the Tao Te Ching than I had already previously learned.
If you loved Winnie the Pooh stories you will love this.

What a wonderful book! A wonderful blend of Winnie the Pooh and Piglet blended with Taoism. I highly recommend.

I really wondered how the author would make the connection with Pooh and was impressed about how it turned out. A truly lovely read

For some odd reason, one page in the middle of the book was torn from the spine outward. It's a very very odd place to be torn. But it was at such a good price, I'm willing to let it go. Besides, it's kind of in keeping with the whole Tao concepts. "We would not know light as light without the dark". There must be balance.

If you're just starting to explore Taoism, this is a great book. The actual Tao Te Ching can be somewhat difficult to get through depending on the translation. This book explains concepts really well and feels, I dunno....kind and comforting and peaceful. It's like getting a big hug. Maybe because it's Pooh and Piglet. Either way, it's just one of my favorites. I gave my copy of The Tao of Pooh to someone. Then I found this and just had to have it.

In a world that is constantly scolding and demanding and directing... a world that not only puts high expectations on you, but demands that you feel those same expectations about yourself... it a world where a little peace is a luxury... comes this book. I first received this book many years ago, but have given my own copies to others many times since. It is NOT a book about religion. It is a book about a philosophy, a way of simply "being." It is a refuge from the daily bombardment one gets from forces outside of ourselves. One's life doesn't need to be a swirl of anxiety and this book helps you see that and, perhaps, find your way to some peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-read for all ages

A fascinating, easily accessible, beautifully written introduction to Taoism that manages to be both smart, sweet and entertaining all at once.

It's worth noting that The Tao Of Pooh stands head and shoulders above The Te of Piglet in terms of both readability, relevance and the introduction of key concepts.

Pooh's book is about an introduction to a wonderful philosophical school of thought, it is brief but endless in depth.

Piglet's book is a social commentary, judgemental, muddled and over-saturated with analogies and metaphors.

I highly recommend these books to the reader but I would have preferred to have the Dao of Pooh on it's own, and with it's original cover.

I had a copy of this yearโ€™s ago and I am so delighted I replaced it.
A great book to have on your bedside table for dipping in when you need a boost. Pooh and Piglet always make me feel better and want honey for tea.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pooh and Piglet - lessons from their lives.

As a Pooh fan, I was intrigued at the possibility that there might be wisdom in the old cloth-eared bear. And indeed there is!

This little treasure teases out some helpful life lessons and approaches by recalling stories from the Pooh books, and reflecting on the nature of what is happening.

It is a testament to the original Pooh stories that they contain these gems, What excellent writing!

There may be "nothing new" here, but it is worth taking the time to slow down and contemplate a few things that we might already know, but fail to see and do day-to-day, and that is highly recommended.

Worth the small price for some great potential, and fun stories too.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book has changed my life.

A friend recommended this book to me, and I can't thank her enough. Don't get me wrong . . . I'm not one of your "normal" self-help, chicken soup book readers; in fact I tend to squirm at that sort of reading. But this book is very different, focusing on ways of thinking and reasoning in an adult (despite the use of children's book characters) and non- "head tilted to one side, brow furrowed in an understanding way" approach. This is THE book for positive thinking and enjoyment of life and is one of the best things I have ever read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great read for a difficult topic (?)

If like me you're interested in improving yourself and keen to learn about different/better approaches to life than the typical stressed approach to Western lifestyles then you've probably started reading books on Buddhism and Taoism. Having look at some books on Tao they can be really hard to read and get to grips with. This isn't one of them - by combining a classic childrens story with Tao so you understand concepts through the characters (mingled with traditional Tao stories) this is really easy to read and very worthwhile.

The second book The Te of Piglet I found nearly as good as the first (Tao of Pooh) although it did go off on a rant about the state of the USA a few times which I felt wasn't needed.

All in all a great read to introduce readers to a great subject. I do wonder if it will ruin my enjoyment of reading normal Pooh books to my sons though - who am I kidding of course it won't!!
