What does the bible say about praying for healing

We are confident that healing is for everyone as Exodus 15:26 tells us that God is ‘the Lord who heals us’.

Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:17 and 1 Peter 2:24 tell us that Jesus, on the Cross, bore our sicknesses and carried our pains, in order to remove them from us and ‘by His stripes we have been healed’. We know that Jesus has purchased full healing for each individual as much as He has provided forgiveness for every sin.

Declare these scriptures over your life and believe for healing.

Exodus 15:26 NIV
If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.

Exodus 23:25b-26 NKJV
And I will take sickness away from the midst of you. No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days.

Psalm 103:2-3 NKJV
Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all His benefits; Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases.

Isaiah 53:4-5 AMP
Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains (of punishment)…
And with the stripes (that wounded) Him we are healed and made whole.

1 Peter 2:24 NKJV
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.

Matthew 8:17 AMP
He Himself took (in order to carry away) our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.

Psalm 107:20 NKJV
He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Proverbs 4:20-23 NKJV
My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.

James 5:14-15 NKJV
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

Isaiah 38:16 AMP
O Lord, by these things men live, and in all these is the life of my spirit; restore me to health and let me live!

Healing Services are held on the first Sunday of every month at C3 Oxford Falls and C3 Silverwater, from 12-1pm. Receive prayer from our Pastoral Team in an environment where the Holy Spirit moves.

When you're going through something difficult, whether it be illness, a broken heart, or grief, finding motivation to begin your healing process can seem like too much. But sometimes, reading a particular passage can provide a sense of relief and even give you strength on your journey towards healing. And if you follow the Christian faith, then there are more than a few healing scriptures that can serve as powerful reminders that you are more than capable of doing hard things and that God is always there to help lift you up in ways both big and small.

These prayers from the Bible can inspire you to embrace healing in a way that helps you grow and gain closure. But it's also important to remember, religious or not, healing can be a painful, exhausting, and circular process. If you’re not feeling up to beginning that process today, then there’s always tomorrow. And if you’ve started the process but feel like you’ve recently taken two steps backwards, that’s OK too. Take it day by day as there is no set timeline for healing. Give yourself however much time you need and remember, regardless of what you’re going through, better days do lie ahead. These healing scriptures are proof of that.

How do you pray for someone else's healing?

To Heal A Friend Think, O' God, of our friend who is ill, whom we now commend to Your compassionate regard. that no healing is too hard if it be Your will. We therefore pray that You bless our friend with Your loving care, renew his/her strength, and heal what ails him/her in Your loving name.

What chapter in the Bible is the healing prayer?

Psalm 119:8 Prays that God Would Heal the Sick God, we plead on his behalf. We pray, God, that you would heal his body, that you would miraculously move. God, we're asking for that. God, that you would do that which only you can do.
