2010 dodge journey 2.4 camshaft position sensor location

well i just google it and found the location on 2.4 engine and if your local dodge dealer doesn't know where it is then you need to go to a different dealership they should be able to help you ,check with the parts guy at the dealer they usually have books with diagrams to help you ....good luck

Well I have also googled the hell out of this. The problem is you search for dodge journey and 80% of what comes back isn't dodge journeys at all. Then what is labeled as dodge journey isn't always a picture for one. They are just mislabeled. Then for the pictures that actually look like my engine, the part is not anywhere near where the diagram says it should be.

Example: http://my.jetscreenshot.com/demo/20160703-kkzd-229kb

So this diagram says it is beneath the engine on the passenger side (as I see it), while the directions i got from Dodge and the ones linked in the thread both say it is on the driver side of the engine beneath the air cleaner...

And this is why I'm so confused. Ugh

The camshaft position sensor is found on top of the transmission bell housing on the backside. The transmission bell housing is right next to the top of the motor in the 2009 Dodge Journey 2.4. The camshaft relays information about its rotation to the ECU. The information from the camshaft position sensor must match the magnetically read data provided by the crankshaft position sensor. Any discrepancy in the readings provided by both the sensors will cause the ECU to mark it as an engine timing problem. A faulty camshaft sensor should be replaced as soon as possible. The replacement will set You back about $180 to $230, depending on where it is done.

Where is the camshaft position sensor located?

The Camshaft Position sensor is typically located in the cylinder head of the engine and has a cylindrical portion that inserts into the head. The Crankshaft Position sensor is normally located in the timing cover or on the side of the block with a cylindrical portion that inserts into the block.

Are Bank 1 and Bank 2 camshaft sensors the same?

Q: Are bank 1 and bank 2 sensors the same? Bank 1 and bank 2 have similar sensors. However, bank 1 has two sensors, of which sensor 1 is located near the engine before the catalytic converter, an upstream sensor called pre-CAT, and sensor 2 is located after the catalytic converter called post CAT, a downstream sensor.
