Red Warning Lights
- Brake Warning Light: Displayed as the word BRAKE on your dashboard, this can appear for different reasons. Mostly commonly, the Brake Warning Light indicates that your parking brake is engaged. It also appears when your Jeep Cherokee needs a brake fluid refill.
- Battery Charge Warning Light: This warning light looks like a rectangle with a - and + symbol inside of it. The Battery Charge Warning Light indicates that the vehicle's battery isn't charging correctly.
- Oil Pressure Warning Light: When the Oil Pressure Warning Light appears, your vehicle has low oil pressure and should not be driven until it's corrected. This warning light looks like a gravy boat with a droplet below its spout. If you see it while driving, stop your engine immediately.
Yellow Warning Lights
Examples of yellow dashboard lights in the Jeep Cherokee include:
- Low Fuel Warning Light: Indicated by a symbol that looks like a gas fuel pump, this warning light appears when the vehicle's fuel level is down below two gallons.
- Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Warning Light: This dashboard light appears when the vehicle's tires have a lower-than-recommended pressure level. Best described as an exclamation point inside of a broken circle, this light indicates that one or more of your tires needs attention.
- Speed Control Fault Warning Light: The Speed Control Fault Warning Light notifies drivers that the Speed Control System in the Jeep Cherokee is malfunctioning. If you see a dashboard symbol that looks like a speedometer with an exclamation point next to it, contact an authorized Jeep dealer.
