Get started with Journeys

In the "Journeys" tab of your History page, your Chrome browsing history and searches are organized by topic and presented in Journey sections. Here, you can easily find your previous browsing activity and continue your research with related searches. If you bookmark a page or add it to a tab group, the page is labeled on the right.

Find your Journeys

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. In the address bar, enter your search terms.
  3. Below your address bar, tap Resume your research.

Alternatively, you can access the Journeys view directly from the "Chrome History" page.

Tip: At the bottom of the page, you can find suggested searches related to your Journeys.

Remove items from your Journeys

Some Journeys that may be sensitive are automatically hidden but can be found through the search box on the Journeys page. For example, if you searched for a health topic and want to revisit that journey, type the health topic into the search box.

You can manually delete a journey or a page of a journey.

What your History shows

Your History shows the pages you've visited on Chrome in the last 90 days. It doesn’t store Chrome pages you’ve visited like chrome://settings, pages you've visited in private browsing, or pages you've already deleted from your browsing history.

If you're signed in to Chrome and sync your history, then your History shows pages you’ve visited across all your synced devices for much longer. If you're signed out of Chrome, your History won't show pages across your other devices.

Browse privately

If you don’t want Chrome to save your browsing history at all, you can browse in private with Incognito mode.

Using a Chromebook at work or school? Your network administrator can turn off browsing history. If history is off, your History won't list pages you've visited. Learn about using a managed Chrome device.
