How to remove icons from samsung galaxy home screen

If no app is open, your Home screen will appear. By default, your main Home screen shows the date, weather, and a few apps.

Important:

• Some of these steps work only on Android 10 and up. Learn how to check your Android version.

Go to Home screen

Depending on your phone, either:

• Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

Change an app

At the bottom of your screen, you'll find a row of favorite apps.

Easy Steps to Hide or Remove a Home Screen App Icon or Shortcut from the Galaxy Tab S6

Below are the actual steps of removing an app icon or shortcut from the Galaxy Tab S6 home screen. You can also use these steps to carry out the same process on your other Samsung devices with Android 10 or later OS versions. Actual screens and menu items may vary depending on the service provider and device model.

1. To get started, swipe up from the bottom of the Home screen to access the Apps viewer.

   The Apps viewer houses different icons and shortcut controls to built-in services and downloaded applications.
   
   

   
   

2. To continue, tap the Settings icon.

   Doing so will launch the main settings menu highlighting the basic and advanced Android 10 features.
   
   

   
   

3. To access and manage the display settings, tap Display.
   

   Another screen opens with a list of all display features such as screen brightness, dark mode settings, blue light filter, screen zoom and the like.
   
   

   
   

4. Tap Home screen to continue with this demo.

   The Home screen menu will load up on the next display.

5. Scroll down to the bottom section and then tap the option to Hide apps.

   App icons or shortcuts will show up on the next screen.

6. To proceed with this demo, let's select the Facebook app icon as an example. So, tap to highlight the Facebook icon.

   A checkmark will show up on the top-leftmost corner of the Facebook app icon.

7. Once you're done selecting app icons, tap Done at the bottom center of the screen.

To see the results, go back to the Home or Apps screen to find out if the Facebook app icon is already gone.

If you want to hide another app icon or shortcut, just repeat the same steps to access the display settings then open the home screen menu to activate the hide apps command.

You can also remove a shortcut from the Home screen by tapping and holding  on the app shortcut that you’d like to remove and then select the pop-up command to Remove from Home.

Removing a shortcut icon from the Home screen only hides the app shortcut but does not delete or uninstall the app itself.
