Imaging Edge Mobile allows images/videos to be transferred to a smartphone/tablet, enables remote shooting, and provides location information to images captured by a camera.

■ Transfer images from a camera to a smartphone
- You can transfer images/videos.
- The selection and transfer of images after shooting are no longer needed as the automatic background transfer function allows images to be transferred to a smartphone as they are captured. *1
- High bit rate video files including 4K can be transferred. *2
- You can view and transfer images in your camera from your smartphone even when the camera is turned off. *2
- After transferring, you can immediately share your high quality images on social networks or through email.

■ Remote shooting of a camera using a smartphone
- You can capture photos/videos remotely while checking the live view of a camera on a smartphone. *3
This is convenient for capturing night views or water flowing scenes which need long-exposure, or macro shooting in which you need to avoid to directly touch the camera.

■ Record location information
- With cameras that have a location information linkage function, the location information acquired by the smartphone can be added to the captured image in your camera.

- You can save up to 20 camera settings in Imaging Edge Mobile.
You can also apply a saved setting to a camera. *4

Send to Smartphone

You can transfer still images/movies to a smartphone and view them. The application PlayMemories Mobile must be installed on your smartphone.

  1. MENU

    (Wireless) → [Send to Smartphone] → desired setting.

    • If you press the

  2. If the product is ready for the transfer, the information screen appears on the product. Connect the smartphone and the product using that information.

    • The setting method for connecting the smartphone and the product varies depending on the smartphone.

(1) Select from among [This Image], [All Images on This Date] or [Multiple Images].

Select on Smartphone:
Displays all images recorded on the product’s memory card on the smartphone.

Note

  • You can only transfer images that are saved on the camera's memory card.
  • You can select an image size to be sent to the smartphone from [Original], [2M] or [VGA].
    To change the image size, refer to the following steps.
    • For Android smartphone
      Start PlayMemories Mobile, and change the image size by [Settings][Copy Image Size].
    • For iPhone/iPad
      Select PlayMemories Mobile in the setting menu, and change the image size by [Copy Image Size].
  • Some images may not be displayed on the smartphone depending on the recording format.
  • You cannot send XAVC S or AVCHD format movies.
  • This product shares the connection information for [Send to Smartphone] with a device that has permission to connect. If you want to change the device that is permitted to connect to the product, reset the connection information by following these steps. MENU → [Wireless][SSID/PW Reset]. After resetting the connection information, you must register the smartphone again.
  • When [Airplane Mode] is set to [On], you cannot connect this product and the smartphone. Set [Airplane Mode] to [Off].

How do I connect my Sony camera to my Samsung phone?

Connecting an Android smartphone or tablet to the camera Start “PlayMemories Mobile” on Android. Select the camera (DIRECT-xxxx: xxx-xxx) that is detected via Wi-Fi. Enter the password displayed on the camera into smartphone or tablet. The smartphone or tablet is connected to the camera.
