Photos of website feel like they were made several years ago or photoshopped a lot. There is a very loud generator at the hotel next door which creates so much noise that you can not really relax at the pool and beach. Very annoying. Also, the other Hotel next door is being renovated. There was lots of drilling and noise. Price of Restaurant food expensive. Room had a “special” odor. When asking the Reception staff about the noise etc., they only had explanations, but not solutions. They stepped away from taking accountability or looking for a nice customer experience. Overall pricing way too high for this hotel. The only positive was the attached beach. Read less

I’m not sure when the web site photos were taken but, the rooms look nothing like the photos! Run down furniture. Dirty. Probably one of the worst hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. Refrigerator all frozen up. Microwave smelled horrible from splattered food inside. Dresser all beat up with folded paper under one of the legs plus handles all… Read more

I’m not sure when the web site photos were taken but, the rooms look nothing like the photos! Run down furniture. Dirty. Probably one of the worst hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. Refrigerator all frozen up. Microwave smelled horrible from splattered food inside. Dresser all beat up with folded paper under one of the legs plus handles all sticky. White power on the one nightstand. The “balcony “ was 2 plastic chairs on the roof top with the air conditioner units on it!! The bathroom looked renovated but, single sink with no countertop and the toilet was jammed between the shower wall and wall. You have to back into the toilet because no room to move around. Thank god the floor was a solid floor not carpet although every time i walked around i got stuff on my feet! Even if the room was cleaned immaculately it could NEVER look like the photos. Read less

The hotel is older and hallways and rooms appear shabby, in need of new paint and remodeling. No private balconies and none have true ocean view. You must twist your neck to the side to see the ocean. From our 6th floor "balcony" we looked down on a dirty roof covered with numerous loud AC units. Our room was expensive and came WITHOUT breakfast. We could have bought breakfast in the overpriced restaurant, but did not. There was a beach elevator that was supposed to save you from walking in your beach/pool clothes through the ice cold lobby but it broke down and was never fixed the entire week we were there. There were also steps leading down to the pool deck. We tried the steps but the door at the bottom was locked!! This would be a real danger in an emergency like a fire. I pointed this out to 2 different people at the desk with no results. Do NOT recommend this hotel. Read less

Please read before you plan on attending or booking anything at this hotel Location - terrible location, nothing to do at night. 20 min walk up the street is better places and better restaurants near the pier. Ocean Sky Hotel is directly beside a condo having massive construction done which is loud and annoying all day (8-12 month ETA on completion). The hotel to the other side has a giant fan blowing 24/7 which is annoying all day and can be heard from the beach and swimming in the ocean. Food - the food at this hotel is ridiculous, everything on the breakfast/lunch/dinner menu is $18. Please explain to me how 2 eggs, 2 toast, and 2 sausage is $18 before tax/gratuity, and so is everything else on the menu (picture attached of the breakfast and lunch/dinner menus) the hotel right next door is a lot cheaper and their menu is much larger. BE INFORMRED OCEAN SKY RESORT CHARGES MANDATORY 15% GRATUITY ON EVERYTHING while the hotel connected via the beach next door does not (TIKI) Staff - I get it, they've had a rough patch the last few years, but the attitude of the front desk staff were horrendous. Rude, attitude, don't care not my problem mentality. When I checked it, THEY CHARGED my Visa instead of a pre-auth, now when they refunded the pre-auth, due to the exchange it left me negative. Front desk even said sorry, card should have never been charged at the start. Tried to resolve it with them - they weren't interested. Just attitude that I don't care for. Now I'll dispute the charge, and they'll be out the initial deposit charge. Beach - the beach was actually good, clean sand and clear nice water - no complaints Recreational Rentals - priced through the rough. I was in San Diego 2 weeks ago we're I rented a jet ski from the Marina and paid $130 usd for 2 hours which included tax and gas. Here they want $165/hour (pics attached with the pricing) Rooms - very outdated and the hallways have cracked everywhere in the walls. Looks and feels like a 1990 roadside motel inside the rooms and hallways more than it does for a hotel. Online pictures - these were either taken when it was new, or heavily edited. It's much more rustic and rundown than you'll see online. Overall, I would have stayed elsewhere if I'd had known, but wr found peace and fun away from the Hotel grounds. Read less

This hotel is OUTSTANDING in every way—the location right on the beach (mere steps down), cleanliness, the reasonable prices, balconies in every room, pool, whirlpool, tiki hut). It is located a short walk from the heart of the town of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea (beach, Anglin’s Pier, restaurants, and shops on Commercial Blvd). Every employee we encountered at this 9-story hotel was extremely welcoming, helpful and pleasant. It is also very helpful that they have a concierge desk that has knowledgeable and helpful employees, especially William Johnson and Marek. Kudos to the General Manager, Domingo Castro, for running such a great place to stay. Read less
