Is Vicks DayQuil good for a cold?

A: DayQuil is a line of over-the-counter medication that treats daytime symptoms of the cold and flu, which can include nasal congestion, cough, headache, minor aches and pains, fever and sore throat.

What does Vicks DayQuil help with?

This combination medication is used to temporarily treat cough, stuffy nose, body aches, and other symptoms (such as fever, headache, sore throat) caused by the common cold, flu, or other breathing illnesses (such as sinusitis, bronchitis).

When should you not take DayQuil?

Stop using Dayquil and talk to your provider if your sore throat lasts for more than 2 days, cough lasts longer than 7 days or stops and returns, or fever lasts for more than 3 days. These can be signs of a more serious condition that Dayquil won't be able to treat.

What should you not mix with DayQuil?

No, you should not take Sudafed with DayQuil. Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) is a decongestant. DayQuil contains phenylephrine, which is also a decongestant. You should not combine pseudoephedrine with phenylephrine or other decongestants.
