WHAT WE DO
The Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court (JDRDC) hears cases involving juveniles, crimes against juveniles, and family matters (except divorce) in Fairfax County, the City of Fairfax, and the towns of Herndon, Vienna, and Clifton. Juvenile Courtrooms are located on the 3rd floor of the Fairfax Courthouse.

The Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court handles cases involving juveniles and adults involved in disputes concerning support, visitation, parentage or custody of a child and offenses against members of their own family. This court also handles foster care. Associated with the Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court is a court service unit which serves the court and facilitates the rehabilitation or treatment of those who come before the court.
The Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court staff is available to answer general questions and to assist you as you do business with the Court.
However, they cannot give you legal advice. Furthermore, they are not responsible for the content of documents submitted to the Court or for ensuring that the parties comply with the filing requirements.
Please consult a private attorney if you feel you need assistance in preparing documents or pleadings, guidance on the filing requirements, and/or other legal assistance.

Correspondence with the Courts' staff will be considered public information. Such communications are neither confidential nor protected by any privilege. All correspondence with the court shall be in writing. Correspondence can be mailed or faxed to the
court. The court's fax number is 757-385-5683. The court does not accept e-mail correspondence.
