Really good hotel, basic , but had everything you need! Great pool, fantastic shuttle service to Universal. Long line to check in, but the friendly welcome negated the wait. At the price, it can’t be faulted, atmosphere much more chilled than Disney!

Hotel's Favorite

We stayed here in August in a queen room and was so impressed with this hotel. The rooms are big, with good air-con and lovely decor. A standard room has a tv, safe, small fridge, coffee maker, iron & board and a hairdryer. Beds are so comfortable and the rooms have a good shower, toilet with separate sink/vanity area. I liked the little touches such as ice dispensers on each floor, water bottle refill stations, free toiletries that are restocked with each room clean, free to use pool towels and numerous charging stations in the room and in the seated public areas. The on-site cafe is great, especially if you have kids. Lots of breakfast items, snacks, ice cream and meals to eat in or take out. Pizzas are good. The refillable Endless Summer cups are a great idea and saved us a fortune on soft drinks. They can be refilled around the pool or in the cafe and extra days are just $3 per day. They can even be used for coffee in the cafe/or to go. Staff are a credit to the hotel and very helpful. As we were staying for three weeks we were given a reduction in our on-site hotel parking, half price! I thought this was a lovely gesture. The parking lot is great as it’s covered so your car doesn’t get hot, a godsend in August! The pool area is lovely with plenty of beds, shades and safe for families as the water isn’t too deep. There are jackets available for children to use in the pool and they offer free swim nappies too. We didn’t use the laundry facilities but they looked good and are available on two floors in each tower of the hotel. As some reviewers have commented you can hear people in adjacent rooms on a morning and maybe coming back after the parks but it’s not a dealbreaker. I think some of it is due to there being connecting doors between rooms. I didn’t find it a problem. I liked where the hotel was situated, easy to find and near lots of our favourite eateries such Red Lobster, Denny’s and IHOP. There’s a good sized Walgreen’s just over the road too. Great stay!

Had a good experience with Surfside Inn and Suites during my stay in Orlando. Clean room, good amenities, courteous staff. Great customer service. Will definitely go back once I get back in town. Well recommended.

Expressed checked in for my partners bday; got to hotel waited 20 min in line after expressed checked in( don’t understand the point) then was told I had to go to a sister hotel as they had emergency and my reservation would be transferred. Reservation in the end was not transferred; had to wait another 45 min for new reservation and was charged again. End result, unable to attend park as it was too late. The way both hotels handled this situation was terrible. I don’t recommend staying here. You get what you pay for..ruined bday!

No hot water on our last day. Refrigerator did not work. Shuttles are suppose to run every 15 minutes and seem to for other hotels but not for surfside. Beds are awful. The sheets and blankets were not great. Hotel is close to the parks but with the lack of shuttles we ended up Ubering most the time

After years of vacationing in Walt Disney World Resort hotels, my wife and I decided to give Universal Studios hotels a try. We did some research and wound up booking the Surfside Inn and Suites. We booked the hotel under the Wizarding World of Harry Potter package which came with park tickets, 2 meals at the Harry Potter restaurants and a photo session at Shutterbutton’s. The hotel is very modern with electronic door locks and you need your room key to go to your floor in the elevator. Your room key also raises the arm to enter/leave the garage. The hotel is very clean and feels like it’s been recently built. We booked a 2-bedroom suite so that some family could visit and stay with us for a few days. The main room is a good size but the second bedroom feels a bit crammed. It has its own TV and a small closet. There’s a small cubby under the bed for your luggage. One small downside is that the second bedroom doesn’t have its own thermostat so hopefully everyone can agree on a room temperature. There is a kitchenette in the room with the usual dorm fridge, microwave, coffee maker and a small sink. WDW hotels never have a microwave so that’s one plus the Universal hotels have over Disney. The food in the Beach Bar Cafe is also very good and doesn’t feel as pricey as the food in WDW hotels. I bought some brownies/cupcake for $3 each and I know they would have been more in a Disney hotel. My wife has a gluten allergy and the chefs were able to make gluten-free dishes for her. The pizza was amazing and didn’t taste gluten-free at all!!! Since we were there during Halloween Horror Nights, the cafe stayed open until 3am for guests that came back late from HHN which ends at 2am. I thought that was a great thing for the hotel to do for their guests. I don’t think any WDW hotels have their cafes open for guests returning from Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween. Another plus for this hotel is it’s proximity to Universal Studios. The shuttle bus ride felt like a mere 5 minutes which is great!!! Even Disney itself is about 20-25 minutes away if you wanna venture over to see Mickey Mouse. The only thing this hotel needs is bell hops to help people with their luggage if needed. But at least they have luggage scales so you can weigh your bags before going to the airport. WDW hotels don’t have scales and I once had a suitcase well over 50 pounds thank to all the souvenirs. The overweight bag fee is no joke. One last plus is there are a lot of restaurants nearby so you can venture out and have a meal at KFC or Red Lobster, for example. There’s a Walgreens across the street if you need emergency meds and a 7 Eleven if you get some major munchies. In all, this hotel won us over and we will definitely stay here again.

Highly recommend you stay here. Excellent service, clean rooms, great location with continuous shuttles to the park which takes the stress out of commuting to the park. Very enjoyable stress free stay.

We booked up a family room 3 x big beds, you get early access to universal parks, they have buses than come outside for the parks. The restaurant is good servicing nice and different kinds for all the family. Pool is quite empty in the daytime but people get in later on the evening till late. We really enjoyed the stay here only down points is the noisy people down the corridors at all times loud letting kids run down the corridors at 12-1am it’s a bit in considerate to others and not really the hotels fault. Sometimes you can hear the people next door in the bathroom when they are loud. We had people outside by the pool really loud from 11pm till 2.45am drinking and shouting we reported to reception who sorted it out straight away. I would definitely stay again it’s a good location 10-12 mins away from universal and 25 mins from Disney. Wallgreens across the road there is a exit gate by the entrance to the car park to access the road. You have to pay for parking which is a let down as you have already paid to stay at the hotel. The pool supply life vests and towels. Everywhere was clean. Fridge and safe are in the room, fridge was a bit loud and the air con was a bit loud but nothing major.

Had a great week here in a 2 bed apartment. Very modern and spacious for a typical hotel apartment. Small fridge and microwave in room 2 large beds in the main room with dining table and small kitchen area 1 large bed in the separate bedroom with a wardrobe and safe Double bathroom sink unit Separate room with Bath with shower overhead and toilet Pool view room We encountered polite and helpful staff at the food court, and always enjoyed our food. We found it reasonably priced. Housekeeping made beds, replaced towels and emptied bins daily Transport to the parks was reliable and frequent, this made our holiday extremely stress free as we could always get to where we wanted to be in a few minutes! Only con is that it can be very noisy at night. We were regularly woken up by sirens outside and other people in the surrounding rooms. On our first night an extremely loud alarm went off in our room. It was extremely scary. It alerted us to stay in our rooms and await further instructions. After about ten minutes we had another announcement that apologised for the alarm and said there was nothing to worry about! However my children were petrified and exhausted by this point! This is a great idea for if there is a fire or some kind of attack, but very annoying if it had been triggered by accident or by someone attending a HHN on their way home!!

Does Endless Summer have a shuttle?

Fun, Free And Easy Transportation Complimentary shuttle buses connect this Value hotel to Universal Studios Florida, Universal's Islands of Adventure, Universal's Volcano Bay and Universal CityWalk. It's just a quick hop between the parks and your hotel.

What is the difference between universal dockside and Surfside?

Surfside is easier to get around due to smaller size. Some guests mention feeling confused how to get back and forth from room to lobby. However, Surfside only has one pool and Dockside has two pools and guests give a slight preference to amenities at Dockside pools. Dockside has a larger lobby and food court.

Can you walk to Surfside from dockside?

The extra bonus is you can take a short walk over to Surfside Inn and Suites right next door if you want to check out the surfboard-shaped pool or a different dining option.

How far is Endless Summer Resort from Disney?

The distance between Universal's Endless Summer Resort - Surfside Inn and Suites, Orlando and Disney's Hollywood Studios is 9 miles. The road distance is 11.4 miles.
