Join us for the yard sale of the year in Jacksonville. A community-oriented event, this weekend (always the first weekend after Labor Day) is a no-host event, meaning it isn’t sponsored or coordinated by an organization or the city. It is simply a weekend designated by the city for residents to have yard sales without the need for individual permits. The City of Jacksonville and the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce do not have any role in planning, sanctioning, or authorizing yard sales, as they are held by individuals at their discretion. As all sales are held by private parties, any yard sales are the sole responsibility of the residents holding them. Sales hours are 7:00 am – 8:00 pm Friday – Sunday. Set-Up is allowed on Thursday, 6:00 – 10:00pm (No Sales Allowed on Thursday). The city’s General Policy for the City-Wide Yard Sale Please note the Trolley Tours will NOT be running on yard sale days. This is related to safety concerns due to the level of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Don’t Live Here But Have Stuff to Sell? Non-residents (meaning anyone outside of the city limits – it doesn’t matter if you have a Jacksonville mailing address – can you tell we get these questions a lot?) and out-of-town organizations wanting to participate need to find someone (resident/business) in town who will give them permission to use their property for a sale. And no, the Chamber of Commerce is not a resource for this. Parking for the Sale The large number of people and the resulting increase in vehicular and pedestrian traffic increases the need for the city to enforce safety regulations. This includes keeping public right-of-ways (streets, intersections and sidewalks) clear and accessible. Illegal parking makes it more dangerous for all people involved. The police will be ticketing illegally-parked vehicles. We want you to have a safe and enjoyable time while you are in Jacksonville, so please be sure you follow the law and the city parking map. Little Falls Residents! Join The Township of Little Falls as it hosts its 3rd Annual Town-Wide Yard Sale at the comfort of your own yard or driveway. The event will take place on Saturday; September 17, 2022 from 9am-3PM. Rain date is Sunday; September 18, 2022. Residents MUST Pre-Register by 9/15/22. Registration Cost of $5 per Household. The Township of Little Falls will advertise the event, deliver a lawn sign for your residence and distribute a map/listing of all sale locations for registered participants. Little Falls residents wishing to participate should complete the form on Community Pass. Please see the attached flyer for the link to Pre-Register! A map and a list of all participants’ addresses will be emailed to each registered household on or before Thursday, September 15th. The list will also be posted online at LFNJ.com. We have found that our town-wide sales attract shoppers from across NJ, NY, and PA. We promote the sale (and the map) in local media and on popular garage sale sites. Can I have a sale without paying to be on the map? Yes. Residents of the Chathams and Madison are welcome to hold sales on their own without registering. Do I need to pay a permit fee to my town? No. The permit fee for this event has been waived for residents of Madison and The Chathams. However, the $10 registration fee gets your address and list of sale items on the map. Should I put up a sign if I’m on the map? Yes. Signs will attract additional customers who are just driving by. Who do I contact with questions?
